We worked with social enterprise Blockbuilders to run a series of workshops on 3rd to 5th June with around 90 students from Radcliffe and Bushfield schools using Minecraft to explore ideas for regenerating the Agora.
Through the workshops, children were given an overview of the project and invited to do detailed design work on the real Agora development plans, working alongside the development team to consider issues such as layout, streets, shops, gateway buildings, green spaces and houses.
An initial cut of the resulting video of their work was exhibited at the Public Review, and the final version can be seen below. It’s a powerful reminder of the importance of fun, playfulness and diversity in designing child-friendly places.
