The world has changed a lot since our last project update in March this year, and we were glad to hear that Wolverton’s independent shops and amenities were thriving during a difficult period for us all.
We’re very pleased to be in position whereby we can provide a more substantive update on the Agora regeneration:
- We have recommenced full design work with the professional team and pre-application discussions with Milton Keynes Council in anticipation of submitting our full planning application later this year.
- We have completed a tender for a demolition contractor – this has been complicated by Covid19 and the unexpectedly large and complex presence of asbestos in the building. We will aim to set out a timescale for demolition shortly.
- We are equally pleased to announce that we are working with Still Green Cohousing to develop one of the new blocks within the development for 29 apartments with shared facilities for an over-55s cohousing community. This will be similar to TOWN and THUK’s first built scheme at Marmalade Lane, which is also a cohousing community but for all ages. You can find out more about Still Green and how to get involved here.
