Love Wolverton will see the demolition of the Agora and redevelopment of the site and adjacent car park with a mix of shops, apartments and houses. In doing so, it will re-establish the traditional street pattern, scale and grain of this wonderful old railway town.
Our vision is Wolverton’s vision
Our submitted plans respond to the ambition laid down the Wolverton Neighbourhood Plan adopted in 2014 to make Wolverton town centre a “vibrant, attractive and distinctive neighbourhood”, and to Milton Keynes Council’s 2013 Agora Development Brief SPD.
Radcliffe Street will be reinstated where the Agora now stands, reconnecting and reinforcing the main shopping streets and creating new and improved public realm.
As well as new eight small shops, 115 very-low-carbon new homes will be provided, from 1-bedroom apartments to 4-bedroom family townhouses, bringing new residents to the town and customers for existing businesses. This will include 29 new homes for Still Green Cohousing – an over 50’s cohousing community based in Milton Keynes.
The most important London Plane trees fringing the site will be retained, providing new landscaping and green infrastructure, to deliver a net gain in biodiversity.
We’re working with Milton Keynes Council and other partners to deliver improvements beyond the Agora site including better pedestrian and cycle connections, expanded bus interchange facilities and extra town centre car parking.
