Demolition of the Agora Centre is due to commence in April. Goody Demolition Ltd, the appointed demolition contractor, will begin to fence-off the Agora over the next few weeks.
Access between Church Street and Radcliffe Street will still be open for pedestrians and the Church Street car park will remain open for public use. The demolition is expected to take 6 months. It will start with internal stripping of the building before progressing with structural demolition in the summer. We hope to mark the structural demolition with the community and will be in touch with our mailing list in the coming weeks regarding this.
The technical design for the new development is progressing so that we can go out to tender and appoint a main contractor. It is expected a main contractor will be appointed later this year and that a start on site will follow in early 2023.
